Paddleboarder Catches 400-pound Fish
CAPE CORAL, Fla., (UPI) -- A Florida fisherman angling from his paddleboard reeled in a 400-pound goliath grouper that pulled him into the water during the struggle.
Capt. Ben Chancey, host of the YouTube fishing show Chew on This, was filming his attempt to fish from a paddle board last week off Florida's east coast when he hooked a 400-pound goliath grouper.
Chancey's struggle with the 7-foot-long fish, which he shared on YouTube, resulted in the fisherman being pulled into the water at one point, but he was able to climb back onto his board and use a rope to retrieve his rod and resume the struggle.
The fisherman and his support team were able to pull the grouper onto his paddle board to pose for pictures before the fish was released back into the water.
"We like to have fun, challenge ourselves with giant fish," Chancey told Fox News..

FINANCE....
Tips to Help Ensure Financial Marital Bliss
(StatePoint) Wedding bells are ringing and “I Dos” are in the air. Newlyweds are taking their first steps toward happily ever after, including combining their finances. But doing so is not without potential pitfalls.
Undeniably, money can be a huge stressor on a relationship, especially on a brand-new marriage; and most couples have an unrealistic view of how they will handle their finances, according to a new survey from credit bureau TransUnion, tracking the attitudes of engaged couples and newlyweds.
More than half of engaged couples said they intend to divide financial decision-making equally, but only 37 percent of married respondents said they actually share the responsibility equally -- more than 36 percent of respondents said they make budgeting decisions by themselves.
“Before tying the knot, couples often overlook financial basics like budgeting and checking their credit scores, which can prove to be a significant oversight,” says Ken Chaplin, senior vice president at TransUnion. “To smoothly merge two separate financial lives, don’t shy away from discussions about financial goals, marriage and credit, debt payments and overall expectations.”
Still, only a quarter of engaged couples said they would inquire about their fiancée’s credit score before marriage. And while 85 percent of all respondents said they know where to look up this information, more than a quarter of married respondents and nearly a third of engaged respondents said they don’t monitor their scores.
While common, prenuptial financial missteps can be easily remedied:
• Productively discuss finances: Most couples say they are very comfortable discussing money. However, if you aren’t prepared with accurate financial knowledge, the conversation may not be effective. As part of this conversation, check your credit scores. You can get them through TransUnion’scredit monitoring tool. Together, share your financial priorities for the future.
• Disclose debt: Many couples don't consider how marriage and debt impact one another. Before forming the union, disclose any debt that you have. Half of survey respondents cite car payments as a source of debt, with student loans cited as the second most common source of debt for engaged and married respondents. Open and honest discussion early on will help you avoid future problems.
• Make a financial plan: Newly married couples have big plans ahead of them: children, new homes, cars, travel dreams and more. The majority of engaged couples consider themselves to be savers and put saving money at the top of their financial agenda, according to the survey. However, make sure you are building a complete savings plan and ensure that your financial goals are aligned.
• Get information: Remember to always check your credit score, and consider consulting a financial planner for advice..

Blueberry Festival Planned for Faith Church
The first-ever Faith Church Blueberry Festival will be held in the Fellowship Hall at 218 W. Pennsylvania Ave Pen Argyl, PA on August 15, 2015 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, rain or shine. This family fun event will also feature our first-ever Pie eating contest just for kids.
Up to twenty children will be given the opportunity to see how fast they can eat a blueberry pie. This promises to be a real entertaining event with contest prizes given out to all kids that participate. Winners will be announced in the various age categories. And, as every good pie-eating contestant knows, no hands can be used and the pie must be eaten completely unassisted. Suffice to say there will be plenty of messy faces waiting for their selfie. “Not to worry Faith Church always stocks plenty of wipes,” said Lori Pensyl, coordinator of the clean-up crew. Also for the first time at a Faith Church Festival, we will have our famous Walking Tacos that simply have to be tried to be believed. What kind of Blueberry Festival would it be if there wasn’t a host of cool blueberry treats beginning with Blueberry Ice Cream, Blueberry Custard Pie, Blueberry Cheesecake, Blueberry Cakes, Blueberry Bars, Blueberry Muffins and lots of food? “The large number of blueberry desserts will provide a refreshing way to chase away those hot, dog days of August,” said Reverend Ruth Ann Christopher, Pastor of Faith United. The Ultimate Blueberry Custard Pie and Cheesecake are two treats that are recommended by our Faith Church dessert experts. There will be so many delicious blueberry offerings that you may have to visit the dessert area more than once. Remember that calories are not counted at any of Faith Church’s festivals so you can make that extra trip to the dessert bar. Portland Annual Town Picnic
Portland will hold its annual town picnic Saturday, August 15 from 2pm to 8pm.
This is a free event for the residents of Portland Borough. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and refreshments will be provided. Residents may bring something to share such as snacks, salads, and desserts. Events planned include, 3-leg race, water balloon toss, wiffle ball, eating contest, seed spitting, cake walk, and many more. Bring your lawn chairs and/or blankets, your EZ up or umbrella. Walk, drive, or ride your bike. Stop in for 5 minutes or stay for the duration. A free movie in the ball field will be available immediately after the picnic. If you are a baker and can make a special cake, consider bringing this for the cake walk. In the event of rain, festivities will be held in the gym. No alcohol or pets. Ask The Doc........
Technology can be wonderful!
by Dr. Gary Williams, DMD
garywilliamsdmd.com
I know sometimes new technologies can be frustrating and leave us questioning whether “progress” is worth the hassle. But, that is not the case with intra-oral digital scanners. We have been using our digital scanner at Family Dental Care now for 3 months, and the results are amazing.
Sure, it’s pretty “cool” technology, and it has been totally comfortable for patients. No gagging going on! And the turn around time is much shorter. All of these are pluses, but here is the real benefit… the accuracy and fit of what we are making.
I can comfortably predict a great fit of your new crowns, splints, Invisalign aligners, retainers, and anything else we scan for. That makes it worthwhile.
It’s one thing to restore your mouth to health, but I want, you want, and you deserve to rest assured that what is placed in your mouth is the best possible fit known to dentistry.
Digital scanning is here to stay at Family Dental Care. Feel free to ask us about our scanner. Garywilliamsdmd.com.
